The Healing Lexicon: Trust

Five Volumes. One Growing Collection.
When I first began The Healing Lexicon, I wanted to give people more language for what they were feeling.
Words like sadness, anger, recognition, and trust seem so familiar. We use them every day. Yet the experiences beneath them are rarely simple, and sometimes the word we reach for doesn't quite describe what we're carrying.
I wanted to create a place where we could slow down, look more closely, and find the language that allows us to understand ourselves a little better.
What began as a small collection of reflections has now grown into five volumes.
And the fifth one, Trust, took me somewhere I hadn't expected.
I began writing about what happens when someone breaks our trust. But as the pages developed, I kept returning to another question: What happens when betrayal causes us to stop trusting ourselves?
How do we forgive the person we were when we didn't know what we know now? How do we recognize what we've learned without becoming suspicious of everyone? How do we remain open to connection while remembering that our own perceptions, boundaries, and judgment matter?
Those questions became the heart of Volume Five.
Its central image is a bird resting on a branch.
The branch matters. It offers support, shelter, and a place to pause. But the bird's safety was never contained entirely within the branch.
It also had wings.
The bird does not refuse the branch. It simply remembers its wings.
I'm delighted to share that The Healing Lexicon: Volume Five — Trust is now complete, along with a companion hypnosis recording, Remembering Your Wings: A Gentle Return to Self-Trust.
With five volumes now in the collection, I'm also beginning to explore printed editions. I've come to appreciate how different it feels to sit with a physical page, write in the margins, and return to a reflection when its meaning changes.
There is something fitting about giving these words a home beyond a screen.
Thank you for reading, reflecting, and making room for this project as it continues to grow.
With gratitude,
Susana Padilla, CHt
